Dr. Janczyk is an attending physician at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak where he helped to pioneer the practice of retromuscular hernia repair. He is the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care (Emergency) Surgery. He also has additional board certification in Intensive Care Medicine and provides care for patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Janczyk has performed over 1000 robotic hernia surgeries, and has an interest in improving the care of patients with hernia disease since the 1990’s. He currently maintains a busy elective practice caring for patients with all types of both primary and surgical hernias.
Dr. Janczyk is a board member of the American Hernia Society Quality Collaborative and is actively involved nationally in improving care and advancing treatments for patients with hernias. In 2016, Dr. Janczyk was the highest volume robotic-assisted abdominal wall reconstruction surgeon in the United States.
